Pilates

What is Pilates?

Pilates is an exercise system that is designed to strengthen the core stabilisation muscles using control and concentration, whilst gaining flexibility at the same time. The six principles of Pilates include Control, Concentration, Centre, Flow, Precision and Breathing. By following these six principles, Pilates can progress you to regain balance and strength throughout your body. Because Pilates is a low impact exercise format using mats and Reformer beds it is a valuable exercise tool for people of all ages, sex and fitness levels.

Pilates at The Wellness Centre is a progressive approach to Pilates following the latest research in to exercise. Our classes are small, and all use mats, small equipment and reformer beds. Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced and are part of a team of teachers, therapists and trainers.

With regular one-to-one health checks, educational and informative seminars and masterclasses all designed to support and motivate you to achieving your goals, you are guaranteed to be well looked after. For many of our members Pilates is part of their exercise regime, and with our Cardio Pilates classes you can achieve your aerobic exercise too.
